Puttalam UC budget passed

The Puttalam Urban Council passed its budget for the fiscal year 2013 with an absolute majority. Leader of the Opposition Alikhan voted against the budget.

In his budget speech, Chairman of the Council K A Baiz said it was the last budget in his capacity as the Chairman and next year he will be presenting the budget in the capacity of Mayor. He pointed out that the Leader of the Opposition who voted against his budget did so against his conscience.

According to the budget presented for the fiscal year 2013, the estimated revenue of the Council is Rs 405,176.13 whereas the estimated expenditure is Rs 405,060,319.11.
