Prof Mohan Munasinghe, co-winner of
the 2007 Nobel Prize for Peace was warmly greeted
by Belgium Deputy Prime Minister and Finance and Sustainable
Development Minister
Steven Vanackere after delivering the keynote speech at the
Brussels Sustainable Development Summit (BSDS 2012) in
December. The summit was attended by leading European
decision makers and experts on sustainable development. Prof
Munasinghe serves as Chairman of the Munasinghe Institute
for Development (MIND). |

Nuwara Eliya District Youth Award
Ceremony 2012 was held recently at Nuwara Eliya ceremonial
hall. The event was graced by Minister Naveen Dissanayake.

The Nimal Lanza Foundation donated
dry rations, school books, boats and fishing nets to
low income earners in Kudapaduwa and Ethukele areas in
Negombo recently. Further 600 pregnant women of the area
were provided with dry ration packs to the value of Rs. 1000

given birth to triplets receiving dry ration gift packs from
Western Province Fisheries, Tourism and Road Development
