Ex-Policeman nabbed for stealing businessman's car and money

A Police Constable dismissed from service, who allegedly waylaid a businessman and robbed his car and money, was taken into custody in Wariyapola. Wariyapola Police said the suspect has been involved in a number of crimes in the North Western Province.

The Police also found a T56, eight live bullets and a police uniform in his bag.

The incident occurred in Wariyapola, Malwana around 11.30pm.

The Police said the suspect threatened and businessman and robbed his car and Rs 500,000.

The suspect produced before Wariypola magistrate was remanded until January 8.
