Police seize 28,000 kilos of rotten potatoes
Two suspects were arrested along with a container load of imported
potatoes weighing 28,000 kilo grammes unfit for consumption. The raid
was carried out by the Dambulla Police Environment Protection Unit and
the Matale
Consumer Authority at Dambulla Economic Centre on Tuesday. The Dambulla
Magistrate ordered the potatoes valued at Rs 2 million to be destroyed.
The two suspects were released on Rs 2 million sureties. |
