Sachin steers WPS to victory

Sachin Umayanga of Moratu Vidyalaya piloted Western Province South to beat Uva Province by 94 runs in the under 15 Prima Cricket Tournament semi-final match worked off at Surrey grounds, Maggona.

Sachin Umayanga who is in fine form throughout the tournament scored 49 runs with six hits to the ropes facing 120 balls and occupying the crease for 161 minutes. Cambrian Thilan Nimesh claimed 4 for 16.

Taking the first lease, Western Province South scored 212 for 9 in fifty overs and Uva Province skittled out for a paltry 118 runs. Isuru Dananjaya took 3 for 40 for the visitors.
