Fine, jail for mobile phone thief

A man who pleaded guilty to stealing a mobile phone worth Rs 4,000 was sentenced to six months' imprisonment suspended for five years by Matugama chief magistrate Daminda Ramanayaka Weligodapitiya.

The accused is a resident of Makalandawa, Walallawita.
