Husband arrested over teacher and childrens death

Investigations into the death of a 31- year - old teacher and her two sons aged three and one month, whose charred bodies were found on a bed in their house at Kaldemulla, Mount Lavinia on Monday morning, revealed that her husband allegedly murdered them due to a family dispute. Mount Lavinia Police arrested the husband on suspicion. He was produced before the Mount Lavinia magistrate court yesterday.

Judicial Medical Officer Dhammika Ariyaratne conducted the post - mortem at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital on Tuesday.

It was revealed that P Sachethana Sandamali, 31, and W Kushan Sandaruwan de Silva, 3, had been manually strangled before their bodies were set on fire.

Investigations revealed one month old W Kushan Banuka de Silva died due to suffocation and extreme heat caused by fire.

Investigations are continuing.
