All Ceylon Hindu Congress appeals for flood relief
The All Ceylon Hindu Congress (ACHC) said in a release yesterday that
they have received several urgent requests for relief assistance from
their member associations, particularly in the Eastern Province and
upcountry who are suffering due to the floods. Hundreds of families are
rendered homeless and taken shelter in refugee camps in their own
districts.
The ACHC has decided to collect relief items and cash donations to
send essential items to all those affected people. Urgent requests are
for mats, bed sheets, new cloths, kitchen materials and food items.
Relief items and cash donations can be handed over at the following
collection points:
1. Saraswathy Hall, 75, Lorenz Road, Bambalapitiya. (with the
concurrence of Land Lord ie. Board of Trustees of Sammankodar Sri
Kathirvelautha Swami Kovil)
2. All Ceylon Hindu Congress, 91/5, Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mw,
Colombo 02.
Remittances can also be sent to All Ceylon Hindu Congress, A/C No.
0003268614 at Bank of Ceylon (Lake House Br) and the counterfoil of the
remittance slip may be sent to this office to enable us to issue a
receipt.
