Ceylinco Insurance wins top honours at NBE Awards
Emerging the winner in the ‘The Insurance Sector’ at the National
Business Excellence (NBE) Awards 2012 for the fourth year, Ceylinco
Insurance has once again reaffirmed the company’s outstanding position
as the torchbearer in the country’s insurance industry. Ceylinco
Insurance also bagged the Gold award for “Knowledge Integration” which
is an award that recognizes a corporate commitment to excellence in
product and process innovation, not only in insurance but among
companies engaged in all other industries and services.

Held for the ninth consecutive year in 2012, The National Business
Excellence Awards are organized by The National Chamber of Commerce of
Sri Lanka.
The National Business Excellence Awards are widely accepted as one
that truly measures corporate performance and business excellence among
corporates. Among criteria used for the selection process are a
company’s commitment towards the country’s socio-economic development
and its ability to adopt efficient systems in running successful
business operations. The companies are also evaluated on adapting to
proper business ethics and advocating best practices in corporate
governance and transparency, reflecting sustainable market
competitiveness and outstanding leadership skills and performance. The
companies selected are further measured on the leadership roles they
occupy in their respective industries.

Ceylinco Insurance has clearly reinforced its strong position as the
industry leader for the 8th consecutive year with a recorded premium
income of Rs 19.8 billion in 2011. The Company’s Insurance premium up to
third quarter of 2012 exceeded Rs 16 billion for which the General
Division contributed Rs 8.3 billion.
