Seatrade awards in May
Recognizing and rewarding global maritime excellence for over 25
years, the Seatrade awards 2013 will be held in May 10, 2013.
Over 350 of the maritime industry’s key players will unite for an
evening of celebration and networking as the award winners are announced
at the Seatrade Awards Ceremony Dinner in the splendid surroundings of
London's Guildhall.
Established in 1989, the Seatrade Awards are among the
mostprestigious and coveted accolades within the maritime industry. It
is an opportunity to showcase your innovative solutions for safe,
efficient and environmentally friendly shipping, in keeping with the
goals and objectives of the International Maritime Organization.
The Seatrade Awards are free to enter and all entries will be judged
by a panel of the industry's leading organizations chaired by Koji
Sekimizu, Secretary-General of the IMO.
The awards are an excellent opportunity to showcase your product or
service in front of the industry's leading organizations.
It will differentiate your product
and position you as a leader in the industry.
2013 Categories for entry will be the safety at sea and the award is
sponsored by Lloyd's Register, significant technical or procedural
improvements leading to reduction of the risk to human life at sea,
clean shipping and the award is sponsored by ABS
The introduction of new, or significant improvements to existing
technology which will support the objective of clean Shipping,
innovation in ship Operations to recognize innovative project which has
the potential to significantly improve the efficiency of any aspect of
ship operations and/or cargo handling.
Entries will be judged on originality and imagination combined with
the perceived practicality of the idea.
There will be an award to recognize a significant contribution to the
recruitment, training, retention and advancement of the industry’s most
valuable asset, its people.
Established over 40 years ago, Seatrade is a leader in maritime and
cruise publications, conferences and exhibitions, training, awards and
other special projects. Regular events include international trade
exhibitions and conferences across all maritime sectors, management
training courses for shipping professionals, training seminars for
travel agents and maritime award schemes, including the prestigious
Seatrade Awards held at the Guildhall in London.

The damaged cargo ship Corvus J which
collided with another ship. Dutch sea rescue services
launched a major rescue operation for 11 missing sailors
after two ships collided in a busy North Sea shipping lane
off the coast of Rotterdam with one ship sinking. Rescuers,
including the Dutch navy, plucked 13 survivors from the
water after the Baltic Ace car carrier collided with the
Corvus J container ship about 100 kilometres (60 miles)
southwest of Rotterdam. A Belgian sea rescue helicopter
found another body this morning, the coastguard said,
bringing the confirmed death toll to five. AFP |
