SLIM wins Gold

The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the National body for Marketing has demonstrated its prowess by winning the "Gold Award" at the National Business Excellence Awards 2012 in the 'Associations and Societies' category.

The Victorious SLIM Team with the Gold Award, Upul Kumarasinghe (Manager Finance), Ruwan Liyanagamage (Treasurer), Kalana Ratnayake (Vice President), Gamika De Silva (Vice President), Sanath Senanayake (Executive Director/CEO), Tilan Wijeyesekera (President), Dhanesh R Jayathilaka (Secretary), Upul Adikari (Assistant Secretary), Chinthaka Wanasinghe (Manager Marketing), Nishara Tissera Perera (Brand Manager)

The annual presentation of the National Business Excellence Awards is organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) was held at Hilton Hotel.

"To be the only professional body to be recognized at the National Business Excellence Awards is indeed something to be proud about", SLIM President Tilan Wijeyesekera said. "This award epitomizes the excellent work done by SLIM throughout the years as a business organization". Elaborating further, he pointed out that SLIM has numerous objectives to achieve in any given year which include improving the standard of marketing in Sri Lanka, proliferating the knowledge of Marketing, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of marketers, recognizing and motivating marketers, being some of those objectives. Describing the award as "a great achievement", SLIM CEO/ Executive Director Sanath Senanayake said that it shows that SLIM has come a long way as the national body for marketing.

Through investments and partnerships with foreign institutions SLIM has acquired new technologies and have been constantly improving quality through the introduction of new processes. "We like to share this achievement with all staff, our partners and all stakeholders, who have been with us and supported us throughout the years" he said. The National Business Excellence Award recognizes business enterprises, which have demonstrated excellence in business, whilst contributing to the economic progression of the country.
