The final domestic tour by Travelon for 2012 will be the Christmas
Tour to Nuwara Eliya by the "EXPO RAIL".

With more than 500 satisfied Sri Lankan Holiday Makers participating
in eight tours, in December 20-21. Train Tour to Nuwara Eliya would be
the "plum on the cake" with the night's stay at the famed "Grand Hotel"
in Nuwara Eliya.
On the morning of December 20, the luxury rail carriage attached to
the "Podi Menike" express train to Badulla will puff out of the Fort
Railway station at5.50 a.m. while the efficient and smart cabin crew of
EXPO staff will serve breakfast to the passenger's seats, with tray
tables provided.
Being served with coffee and tea as the train reaches Gampola the
passengers have the opportunity to come out on the "Sun Deck" where one
could move freely to the open air section of the train and enjoy the
fresh air, of the fantastic Sri Lanka up-country scenery!
At the Hatton station the train winds through some of the best
scenery of Sri Lanka with miles and miles of green carpets of tea laid
on mountains, the beauty of this train route view is simply out of this
world! You will have the opportunity to wiev two magnificent water falls
Devon, St. Clare and the upper Kotmale Hydro project being constructed.
The train is scheduled to arrive at Nanuoya station and those who
have been to Horton Plains/World's End (four km hike one way) will
de-train at Pattipola (the highest elevation of a train station in Sri
Lanka) and travel by coach to Horton Plains.
After the excursion to Horton Plains both groups will meet at Grand
Hotel for fellowship and cocktails. A Buffet Dinner at the "Grand
Ballroom".
The tour of N' Eliya including Japanese Garden, Lake Gregory will be
on the next day after a sumptuous breakfast.
The group will get to the Nanuoya station by 12.20 p.m. to board the
down train to Colombo with Lunch and tea served. The cost of the tour is
reasonably priced.
