Yamaha Music Centre commemorates 90 years

Yamaha Music Centre celebrates 90 years of a successful and enduring journey as the pioneers to introduce the world renowned Yamaha musical instruments to Sri Lanka. Yamaha Music Centre has the distinction of being the second oldest authorized sole distributor of Yamaha products in the world.

Mike Caderamanpulle (Senior), revolutionized the local music industry by setting up the first Yamaha showroom that allowed the local musicians to experience the world’s finest musical instruments in their home country.

Throughout the years Yamaha has reached many milestones including the importation of the first reed organ, harmonica, grand piano, acoustic guitar, phonograph player, hifi player, first laser player and many more initiatives. In 2002 Yamaha Music Centre introduced the Flagship DSP AX-1 9.1 home theater amplifier to the country and in 2007 the first white concert grand piano, a first of its kind to make a presence in South Asia which was imported to Sri Lanka.

The Yamaha Music Centre offers three main components in their product portfolio which are Musical Instruments, Home Audio Equipment and Professional Audio Equipment. The product range under musical instruments includes Digital Keyboards and Synthesizers which is a key product category that includes the popular PSR range.

The PSR series workstations are used by almost every solo keyboardist in the country; Guitars from the next main category with a complete range of electric, acoustic, semi acoustic or bass guitar models on offer. Yamaha name is synonymous with Pianos, all over the world and are endorsed by musical legends such as Sir Elton John, Norah Jones and John Legend. Yamaha Music Centre markets Yamaha pianos as well. Yamaha Clavinova or Digital Pianos is popular with all age groups with a wide range of entertaining functions such as karaoke, internet downloads and learning features.
