Dharmasoka deprived of victory

Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda missed out on a thrilling win in their under 19 friendly match against Rahula College played at the Uyanwatta cricket ground. Having to score 36 runs in 18 deliveries for an outright win they were 33/1 at the close of play Adeesha Thilanjana scored a quick fire unbeaten 21 off 8 balls with two fours and two sixes.

Dharmasoka College were deprived of a deserving win and had to settle for a draw. Opting to bat first Rahula were restricted to 185 runs in 72.5 overs.

Dharmasoka declared their innings at 285/7 being 105/2 over night. Yohan de Silva 87 and Adeesha Thjilanjana 58 put on 110 runs for the third wicket while Pasan Priyanjith 68 and Kaweesh Pushpa Kumara unbeaten on his maiden first Xi half century (52) put on 102 runs for the seventh wicket.

Rahula were bundled out for 134 runs in 49.2 overs in their second innings.
