Ape bites man
P B Kirindeniya-Nawalapitiya Group Corr.
A man who tried to chase away an ape gobbling meals inside the
kitchen and damaging kitchen utensils, was bitten by the ape and
admitted to Nawalapitiya District General Hospital.
The incident occurred in the Imboolpitiya Colony, Nawalapitiya.

Kothala Hibutu, a valuable ayurvedic herb is facing extinction due to
bio piracy.
This plant is exported to foreign countries in the guise of
collecting medicinal herbs for research, residents said.
Navy anniversary celebrations
The Sri Lanka Navy will celebrate its 62nd anniversary tomorrow.
Several religious and social functions have been organised to mark this
event.
Book launching ceremony
A Sinhala language book titled Yahapalanaya Thulin Sahasra Sanwardena
Ilakka Seksath Kara Ganeemata Pela Gasemu (Let us get together to
realise the Millennium Development Goals through Good Governance) will
be launched at a ceremony at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute
auditorium on December 14 at 2pm.
The book will feature a collection of articles written by eminent
scholars.
The book has been prepared by the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry.
Praise and worship service
The focus will be on 'The Mary Miracle' at the praise and worship
service at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour, Bauddhaloka
Mawatha, Colombo 7 tomorrow at 10.30am.
The speaker and the minister at the service will be Vijaya Corea. |
