UC oppn leader dies while addressing council

Opposition UNP leader of the Kolonnawa Urban Council S Chandrasena Dias died of a hear attack while attending in the council budget debate at the Kolonnawa Town Hall yesterday.

Dias, 66, has functioned as the Kolonnawa Urban Council chairman for nearly 19 years.

He was also a member of the Western Provincial Council for sometime.

He became opposition leader of the Kolonnawa Urban Council after the recent UC elections. His wife predeceased him.

He leaves a son and a daughter.
