Milestone in reconciliation process:
Army recruits 100 Kilinochchi girls
The Army throwing its full weight behind the
current reconciliation efforts, made another gesture in furtherance
of this exercise by enlisting the first-ever batch of 100 Tamil
girls from Kilinochchi to the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force during
a landmark ceremony at the 6th Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (6 SLAWC)
Headquarters at Bharathipuram, Kilinochchi on Saturday.

Woman nabbed for selling Pangolin meat
A woman who allegedly killed a Pangolin (kaballewa)
and sold its meat inside her house was arrested by the Police in
Ingiriya, Galkanda on Saturday. The police found 3.8 kilos of
Pangolin flesh inside the 28 - year - old woman’s house.

Dead man found in car
Bambalapitiya Police found the body of a man in
a car with his throat slit on Marine Drive in Bambalapitiya at
around 1.20 pm yesterday. The deceased was hails from Polhengoda
Road, Kirulapone. The magistrate of the Aluthkade No 3 Magistrate’s
Court commenced the magisterial investigation yesterday.
Bambalapitiya Police are investigating.
