Inter Prisons Karate, a success

The Inter Prisons Karate Championship organized by Sri Lanka Prison
Department Karate Association was held at the Youth Rehabilitation
Centre, Dalupotha, Negombo under the patronage of Rehabilitation and
Prison Reforms Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera.
For the first time, an event for the hostellers was a significant
feature in this championship. A Karate show was presented by prison
officers youth convicted for drug offences.
B.Prasanna who is the Karate trainer of the prissons for the past 21
years was felicitated at the event.
The event was held under the supervision of Assistant Suprintendent
Senerath Senanayake. Member of Parliament Sudharshani Fernandopulle,
Prison Commissioner General P.W.Kodippili, Prisons Commissioner Asoka
Hapuaarachchi and Prison Superintendent Gamini Jayasinghe were also
