SLIM ties up exclusive partnership with American Marketing
Association
Members of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) are now able
to obtain membership in the American Marketing Association (AMA) through
an exclusive MoU signed between the two organisations recently.
"We being the national body for marketing in Sri Lanka are proud to
enter into an exclusive MOU with the American Marketing Association
which brings an array of benefits to SLIM members. With this exclusive
tie up SLIM members can obtain full membership of the AMA and gain
access to a wide array of benefits and privileges. The AMA is one of the
most dynamic marketing associations in the world and as most marketers
would acknowledge marketing is probably run in the most sophisticated
and advanced manner in the US market place, which the AMA represents"
says SLIM President, Tilan Wijeyesekera. "Our association with AMA has
widened the horizons of SLIM members and Sri Lankan marketers by giving
them access and exposure to the worlds most advanced and contemporary
marketing techniques, and all this at a specially negotiated
concessionary rate for membership".
"The American Marketing Association (AMA) is committed to extending
its brand and offerings globally and in Sri Lanka and the Memorandum of
Understanding we signed with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM)
is an important step toward what we believe will be a deeper and
enduring relationship that will benefit both organizations and, most
important, marketing professionals in Sri Lanka" says Marisa McCarren,
International Director of AMA.
"AMA's portfolio of offerings is wide and deep and we have much to
offer and contribute to the global and Sri Lankan marketing communities.
But we recognize that we also can learn much from marketing
professionals and relationships around the world," she added.
Elaborating on the benefits, SLIM CEO/ED, Sanath Senanayake said that
SLIM members obtaining membership of AMA will have access to the AMA
Marketer's Toolkit, AMA Website, AMA publications, AMA Connect and many
other opportunities to expand their knowledge and build their marketing
skills. "They will find a platform for conversations with trusted peers,
an exclusive source of information and resources, a network for
expertise and a place to learn and stay current. In short, they will be
part of the AMA online community", he added.
The AMA was established in 1937 by visionaries in marketing and
academia. Today it has grown to be one of the largest marketing
associations in the world, with over 30,000 members who work, teach and
study in the field of marketing across the globe.
The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing is the National Body of
Marketing which has a mandate of uplifting the marketing fraternity in
Sri Lanka and thereby adding value to our economy and our nation. |
