Kudos for First Lady
Uganda's First Lady and Minister of Karamoja Affairs Janet Kataha
Museveni yesterday said the excellent service rendered by Sri Lanka's
First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa towards the progress and welfare of Sri
Lanka's children is a good example to the rest of the world.
First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni who accompanied Uganda's President
Gen Yoveri Kaguta Museveni on his two day official tour of Sri Lanka
made this observation when she attended a special ceremony held at the
Carlton pre-school Maligawatte organized by the Carlton Group of
pre-schools yesterday.
First Lady Museveni said she was highly impressed by the systematic
education imparted by the Carlton pre-school to produce an active child
population rich in moral and spiritual values. She said she wished to
thank Sri Lanka President, the government and the people of Sri Lanka
for the hospitality extended to them during their visit.
First Lady Museveni was accorded a grand welcome on arrival at the
venue by Sri Lanka's First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa and the staff and
students of Carlton pre-school. Thereafter she was conducted on a tour
of the classrooms to observe educational activities and the talents of
the pre-school children.
She took a special interest in the special section of the school
reserved for children with exceptional talents and skills, said a press
release issued by the Media Co-ordinating office in the office of the
First Lady.
Students also staged a dance performance and a musical show to
entertain the visiting First Lady and the members of her delegation.
Special mementos were also exchanged to mark the visit.
