Theft of salaries: suspect arrested

A suspect wanted in connection with stealing salaries of employees of a leading tourist resort in Unawatuna, Galle was arrested by Habaraduwa Police on Sunday.

The suspect is alleged to have stolen around Rs1.5 million. Police also found the motorcycle used by the suspect to carry out the robbery, some items purchased from the stolen money and a portion of the stolen money. Among the goods the suspect had purchased were a three- wheeler and an almirah.

Investigations are continuing.
