Retired electrician electrocuted

A retired electrician of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) died
after he was electrocuted while wiring his home in Bataduwa, Akmeemana
on Monday around 7pm.
Akmeemana Police are investigating.
Blood donation
A blood donation campaign for the employees of the Central
Environmental Authority (CEA) will be held today from 9am to 3pm at the
CEA Auditorium.
The Welfare Society of the CEA has organized the activity.
SLAFF anniversary
The Sri Lanka Agonshu Friendship Foundation (SLAFF) will celebrate
the 20th anniversary of scholarship awards at the BMICH on November 11.
Most Ven Seiyu Kiriyama Thera founded the Agonshu sect in Japan, known
to house various sects of Buddhism. Agonshu is a amalgamation of
Northern Mahayana, Southern Theravada and Tibetan esoteric Buddhism.
International Day of Radiology
International Day of Radiology will be celebrated for the first time
today.
It is the 117th anniversary of the discovery of X rays by German
Physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen.
The Sri Lanka College of Radiologists has organized series of events
to commemorate the occasion.
A public awareness programme will be held today from 9.00 a.m. to
12.30 p.m. at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute with the participation
of Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena.
Pinkama
A series of pinkama will be held from November 11 to 18 at the
historical Kande viharaya-Aluthgama, to invoking blessings on President
Mahinda Rajapaksa, on the people and the country.
The series of pinkama will begin with a bodhi pooja on November 11 at
6.00 pm.
The series of pinkama has been organized by the Kalutara District
Secretariat.
