Vitamin pills send 27 to hospital

Twenty seven students of Maspotha MV were hospitalised when they fell sick after taking vitamin tablets at a medical clinic at the school. The vitamin pills were given by the Kurunegala Health Services Office.

The hospitalised students, 15 boys and 12 girls, were from grades 4 and 7 and are aged between eight and 12. Two students, a boy and a girl, are in the ICU. Police believe they fell sick after taking the vitamin pills.

The medical clinic was conducted by three doctors, two PHIs and two nurses, police said . Investigations are continuing .
