Nations Trust Bank welcomes new Board Director

The Nations Trust Bank said it was pleased to announce the appointment of Suran Wijesinghe as a Director of the Bank with effect from November 1, 2012.

Suran Wijesinghe is currently an Executive Vice President of John Keells Holdings PLC and is also the Chief Financial Officer of the Financial Services Sector of the Group. He has been with the John Keells Group and in the Financial Services Sector since January 2004.

The Financial Services Sector of the John Keells Group comprises of Nations Trust Bank PLC, Union Assurance PLC and John Keells Stock Brokers (Pvt) Ltd.

Wijesinghe is a Fellow Member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK.

He has over 30 years of work experience in the fields of auditing, financial management and general management which has been acquired while serving in organisations both, locally and overseas.

Prior to joining the John Keells Group, Wijesinghe was employed in Botswana for 12 years, initially as the Group Finance Manager and th there after as the Group Finance Director of Securicor Botswana Ltd. (formerly known as Inco Holdings Ltd.) a Company listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange.
