The Dinamia newspaper that has a proud 103-year-history has been
labelled as a 'government trumpet' by some elements. The present
government under the wise leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa has
paved way for the citizens to live in peace by ending the 30-year cruel
war", said Dinamina Chief Editor Gamini Jayalath.
He was addressing a group of journalists of the Ratnapura and Kegalle
districts at a conference to educate them on the progress being made the
Dinamina newspaper.
Jayalath said the Dinamina newspaper has already set course on a new
path and it should be the duty of all of us to work for the well being
of this pioneer newspaper in Sri Lanka. 'Our aim is to make the Dinamina
the most popular newspaper in the country. In order to do so, we should
march forward in a competitive manner, in order to compete with other
newspapers," he said.
Lake House Editorial Director Seelarathna Senarath said, Provincial
Journalists are the heart of the Dinamina newspaper and they hope to
hold a felicitation ceremony for them in the near future.
'President Mahinda Rajapaksa can be classified as the most popular
leader of this era, to emerge in Sri Lanka. He said Lake House has
already taken measures to publish several tabloid newspapers to depict
the development progress achieved by the government under the Mahinda
Chinthana concept.
Dinamina Provincial Editor K C J Ratnaike said morning the newspaper
has become a must for the citizens similar to bed tea as the newspaper
reading population has increased.
"Provincial journalists are duty bound to supply quality news," he
said.
