In a world where the only constant thing is change, YES-FM bids a momentous farewell and embraces the challenges of an evolving radio landscape as they let go of two iconic call signs: 89.5 and 88.2 and move on up to 101FM.

YES101, as the new 'call letters' go, will cover Colombo (Western Province) Kandy (Central Province) and Down South (Southern Province) whilst 100.8FM will cover most parts of the rest of the Island.

Officially signing off at 8pm on October 31, as the transition takes place --- Sri Lanka's Number One Hit Music Station, YES101 is all geared to hit the ground running the moment the "on air" signal is switched back on!

Signing on at 6am - November 1, YES101 will kick things off with "The 9 days of the 90's" A signature station benchmark which features the biggest hits from one of the best decades in music history. The 90's hits for 9 straight days will follow an epic dance party at the Cinnamon lakeside!

It doesn't just stop there, all the promotions, content, events, prizes, and music that the station is known and listeners have been accustomed to will continue, and live on and will just keep getting better and better....

Enrolments for Nanda Malini Sangeetha Ashramaya

Renowned vocalist and award winning songstress Nanda Malini is enrolling students for classes at her Nanda Malini Sangeetha Ashramaya for the year 2013. All the classes are aimed at cultivating enthusiasm for music and locating the hidden musical talents in children.

Children between eight to 12 years will be trained on the basics of music while those between 12 to 15 will be trained on various techniques which go hand in hand with their school syllabus.

The students will also get an opportunity to learn about the traditional folk songs of Sri Lanka and Ragadhari music. They will be able to excel in the subject by taking the entrance, premier and diploma exams of the Bathkande University.

Nanda herself if a graduate of music at the Lucknow Bhatkhande Music Institute University. She has been holding classes at the Sangeetha Asharamaya for 27 years.
