| Airport Customs arrested a Pakistani
national who attempted to smuggle 129 kilograms of
sandalwood valued at Rs 200,000 at the Bandaranaike
International Airport yesterday. Exporting sandalwood is
banned in Sri Lanka under the Flora and Fauna Act. Customs
Deputy Superintendent Wimal Piyasumana and Assistant

| International Monetary Cooperation
Senior Minister Dr Sarath Amunugama met the Asian
Development Bank team visiting Sri Lanka. He met the
officials at the Finance and Planning Ministry to discuss
economic challenges and progress in the North and East
development activities. The officials comprised Maurin
Sitorus, Ashok Lahiri, Kazuhiko Koguchi, Jerome Joseph Louis
Destombes, Richard John Anthony Karol Edwards, Khin Khin
Lwin and Wilson Kamit. |
