Development, govt's main aim - Minister

The government has solved a number of issues in the country unlike
previous governments. The UNP while in power spent huge sums but did
nothing to develop the country or end the war, Productivity Promotion
Minister Lakshman Seneviratne said.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa did a great service to the country by
ending terrorism, he said participating in a special ceremony in Kanda
Ketiya.
Minister Seneviratne opened two Gami Diriya multi-purpose buildings
in Thenna Panguwa, Kanda Ketiya and Wewa Thenna. He also commenced
development activities of Meegahakiula, Bogahathenna Road.
The cost of the development projects are over Rs 20 million.
"The government has solved most problems and will solve other issues
in due course," he said.
"The government has implemented several development programmes
throughout the country under the Mahinda Chinthana future vision. All
areas in the country will be developed step by step under these
programmes. We hope to provide equal facilities to both urban and rural
areas," the minister said. |
