Janasevana housing units to be handed over to public soon

Minister Wimal Weerawansa who was on an inspection tour of the
construction sites of Janasevana flats in Angulana, Lunawa, Moratuwa and
Soysapura, said these flats will be handed over to the public soon.

"The Angulana Janasewana housing complex is for people who lost their
houses due to sea erosion while the Moratuwa and Lunawa flats will be
allocated to underprivileged families. The Soysapura rehabilitation
project will also be completed immediately," the minister said.
He also said the ministry spent Rs.920 million for the construction
of the Angulana housing complex which consists of 288 houses. The State
Engineering Cooperation is carrying out construction activities of these
housing projects.
Over Rs. 875 million has been spent on the the Lunawa housing complex
consisting of 356 housing units, while Rs.40 million has been spent for
the first phase of the Soysapura rehabilitation project.
National Housing Development Authority chairman Jayantha Samaraweera,
General Manager Mahinda Mudalige, State Engineering Corporation chairman
Jagath Kumara Perera and Urban Habitat Development Authority Director
Sumith Wanniarachchi also accompanied the minister on his inspection
tour.
