The annual Katina Cheevara Pooja of Malwatte Maha Viharaya will be
held on the November 4 organised by Ven Mahopadyaya Agga Maha Panditha
Aluthgama Dhammananda Nayake Thera, Snr, member, Karaka Sabha of
Malwatte Chapter with the assistance of the Dayaka Sabha of the Viharaya,
the Sri Sangharaja Gunanusmarana Sangamaya and its Kantha Sangamaya.
The Katina Cheevara Pooja is unique in Sri Lanka where three Katina
Cheevarayas will be offered to the Maha Sangha of the three viharayas
consisting the Malwatte Maha Viharaya at the same place.
This is the 69th such pooja.
An alms giving to 80 members of the Maha Sangha, including 48 Bhikkus
who observed Vas at the Malwatte Maha Viharaya will also be held.
The three peraheras taking the Katina Cheevarayas to the Malwatte
Maha Viharaya will commence at 4.00 am on the same day from the
following places.
From the residence of Gomila, 134, Galmaduwawatte, Kundasale
From the residence of Lionel Gunatilleke, 173/2A, Rajapihilla Mawatha,
Kandy.
From Mahamaya Balika Vidyalaya. |
