SL's first Green University Town to open in 2014
China Development Bank to invest Rs 5.4 b :

Sri Lanka's first Green University Town constructed by the National
School of Business Management (NSBM) will be opened in 2014. China
Development Bank will finance the construction by investing Rs 5.4
billion for the first time in Sri Lanka.
Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister Dullas Alahapperuma
said the construction of this ground breaking venture would begin in
December, making Sri Lanka one of the main educational hubs in the
world.
"This university will not only cater to local students,but foreign
students, bringing in additional foreign exchange and increase foreign
exchange savings to Rs. five billion by year 2025"
"The NSBM, while producing 5,000 graduates annually, will also
provide the economy with Rs. 1.2 billion tax revenue.
"It will also provide more job opportunities by way of 300 placements
for direct academic employment, 400 placements of direct non academic
employment and also 1000 placements of indirect employment. The minister
also said as the NSBM provides its students with two years of work
experience,there will be increased opportunities in the job market.
