Vazians in first innings win

Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa had to be satisfied with a first innings win of 122 runs against Carey College, Colombo in their inter-school under 19 cricket match worked off at Wennappuwa.

Resuming at 45 for no loss homesters declared at 229 for 7 with Sevinda Silva making the top score of 50 runs while Janapriya Fernando and Shehan Kumara contributing 42 and an unbeaten 40 runs respectively. Charith Rajapaksa was the most successful bowler for the visitors with 3 for 65. When bad light stopped play at 3 p.m on day two Carey were 6 for 2.
