Devans excel in drawn game

Rain on both days prevented a decision being reached in the
inter-school cricket match between Maliyadewa College and Kingswood
College which ended in a 'no decision' at Police grounds, Kandy on
Tuesday.
Maliyadewa College, who batted for 48 overs on the first day batted
another 40 overs on the second day in making 261 for 8 declared in 88
overs.
Middle order batsman Tharindu Rajaguru top scored with a fluent 92
hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes off 174 balls. He was associated in a sixth
wicket stand of 95 with Chamodh Rajapaksa who scored 61 not out with 3
sixes and 4 fours off 80 balls.
Off spinner Tharindu Liyanage took 5 for 84.
Kingswoodians going into bat in the afternoon after a brief stoppage
due to rain faced disastrously and were lucky to escape with a no
decision.
They lost their first two wickets at 11. Six runs later two more
wickets fell at the same total to have them tottering at 17 for 4.
Further disaster struck and were reeling at 29 for 6. The two umpires
decided to call off play two runs later.
Maliyadewa College 134 for 5 overnight contd. 261 for 8 decl. In 88
overs (Tharindu Rajaguru 92 Chamodh Rajapaksa 61 not out, Thineth
Manishka 21, Tharindu Liyanage 5 for 84, Ravindu Fernando 2 for 51).
Kingswood College 31 for 6 in 24 overs (Dhulanjan Tharanga 10,
