Lankan nabbed attempting to smuggle gems, jewellery

The Customs Anti Narcotics Bureau at the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday arrested a Sri Lankan with a stock of jewellery and gems. Investigations revealed Anti Narcotics Bureau officers at the BIA searched the man yesterday morning and found 5.5kgs of jewellery and 379 grams of stones.

The suspect, a resident of Dehiwela, had arrived from Bangkok.
