China ready to assist NCP agro sector
The Chinese Government is ready to provide Chinese technology to
develop the agriculture industry in the North Central Province (NCP),
Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Wu Jianhao said.
He made this pledge when he called on NCP Chief Minister S.M.Ranjith
at the NCP office yesterday.
A Chinese delegation led by Chinese Ambassador attended a round of
discussion to explore the possibilities of helping the NCP to increase
agriculture production. He pointed out how China uses the latest
technology for the enhancement of the agriculture sector and expressed
the Chinese government's willingness to lend a helping hand to Sri Lanka
too.
Elaborating the significance of the bond maintained by China and Sri
Lanka, the ambassador said the relationship should be preserved in the
future too.
" China is happy to witness Sri Lanka's rapid development in the
economic, social and cultural spheres, he said.
"The long lasting Buddhist links between the two countries will never
be damaged", he added. The ambassador said the Western region of China
is very similar to the North Western Province of Sri Lanka.
Congratulating the NCP Chief Minister, he said he was happy to see a
young person to be appointed to the post of Chief Minister in the NCP.
The Chief Minister appreciating the Chinese Government's support to
develop the entire agriculture sector in the NCP said China would
support the NCP because of the strong bilateral ties between the two
countries. |
