Royal principal summons parents' meeting

Grades 10,11,12 and 13 of both Royal College and Thurstan College will be closed until Tuesday October 30.

This decision was taken at a meeting of representatives of both schools, presided over by the Education Minister in the aftermath of Tuesday's clash between groups of students from both schools in which six students were injured.

Meanwhile, Royal College principal Upali Gunasekera told the Daily News

last evening that he had summoned a meeting of parents for Friday. The first meeting will be at 7.45 am at Navarangahala for parents of students of Grade 12 and 13 another meeting will held with parents of Grade 10 and 11 at 9 am at the same venue. The principal said the reopening of school on October 30 will depend on the participation of parents for the meeting summoned by him on Friday.
