Student steals valuables from lawyer’s home

A 16-year-old student, who allegedly stole a Rs 150,000 worth game
player and mobile phone valued at Rs 35,000 from a lawyer’s home in
Dehiwala, was arrested by Ingiriya Police on Sunday.
Police said the suspect’s mother was employed at the lawyer’s home
and the teenager had stolen the goods when he went to the house to meet
his mother.
The suspect is a student at a leading school in Ingiriya.
Police said the student had given the stolen mobile phone to his
girlfriend and the Police found it at her home in Horana.
The suspect was planning to sell the game player at a low price.
Police said the suspect upon interrogation confessed to another
robbery and based on this information, the Police found a water filter
valued at Rs 4,500 from a house in Ingiriya.
The filter water was sold for Rs 1,500 by the suspect who was to be
produced before the Horana magistrate. |
