Tanks spilling over in A’pura

All small tanks in the Anuradhapura district have started to spill over following incessant rain experienced in the area during the last few days.

Farmers said they have already started the Maha cultivations with the aid of the spilled water although they have not been officially asked to start cultivation. Irrigation engineers said they would soon organise a kanna meeting to instruct farmers on starting the Maha season cultivations .
