High Beat 2012 at Galadari
High Beat 2012 will be held on october 27 at the Grand Ballroom,
Galadari Hotel, Colombo from 9.30 pm onwards.
Aruna Dias Bandaranaike will compere the event while Sohan & The
Experiments and Heat will add more colour.
Oedipus The King, Lysistrata and Antigone at the Wendt
Oedipus The King, Lysistrata (Viseekaree) and Antigone directed by
Priyankara Rathnayake will be staged on October 26, 27 and 28 at the
Lionel Wendt theatre at 3.30 pm and 7 pm respectively.
Windtalkers
Windtalkers (2002 ) will be screened on October 23 at 6pm at the
American Centre, No 44, Galle Road, Colombo 3. (Running Time: 134
minutes)
Having earned Hollywood's respect with blockbusters like Face/Off and
Mission: Impossible 2, Hong Kong action master John Woo lends his
signature style to serious World War II action in Windtalkers.
Recognizing the long-forgotten contribution of Navajo "code
talkers,"whose use of an unbreakable Navajo-language radio code was
instrumental in defeating the Japanese, the film serves as an admirable
tribute to those Native American heroes.
Seating is limited and is first-come, first-served.
Ananda Prathibha at Lotus Pond
 Dancing Circle of Ananda College formed in the year of 2002 with the
objective of exploring new vistas of Dancing whilst preserving
traditional dancing, laid the foundation for students to organize
themselves to acquire a high level of performing skills beyond the
status of dancing confines only to a curriculum subject.
And now, the Ananda College Dancing Circle is planning to organize a
prestigious event called Ananda Prathibha on October 28 at the Lotus
Pond-Mahinda Rajapaksa theatre from 6.30 pm onwards.
Black Mass Festival at Women's International
Raaksha Studios and Productions Presents The Biggest Black Metal Fest
in the History of SLBM where Colombo meets the Hill Capital Kandy and
The Mighty City of Nittambuwa for The Black Mass Festival 2012 featuring
the Pure Dark Blood of the Singhale.
The event will be held on October 28 at the Women's International
hall from 4 pm to 10 pm. |
