Each person in this world has an inborn talent. Some have more than
one. Deema Chamathca Rupasinghe, aged 19, is a good example since she is
a mixture of creativity and talent.
Daily News recently spoke to Rupasinghe on her upcoming exhibition 'Lassana
Cards-2012' which will be held at Regency room, Taj Samudra, on November
24 from 10 am to 7 pm.
"I have a paper-quilled card exhibition which is something unique and
there will be 3000 cards exhibited on that day," said Rupasinghe with a
delightful smile on her face.
"These cards are made using paper and I learnt it from my friend
Chathurika Jinasena two years back," she added.
Rupasinghe, a proud pupil of Musaeus College, sat for her A-L in
Arts. "I am good in drawing as well as crafts. My future ambition is to
become a fashion designer and I am hoping to join the Academy of Design
(AoD) to make my dream a reality," explained Rupasinghe.
According to Rupasinghe she is pretty sure that no one has ever held
an exhibition as such.
"I have got all sorts of cards in my collection such as birthday
cards, wedding cards, invitation cards and many more which include
cartoon characters, elves along with many others," stated Rupasinghe.
Rupasinghe creates the cards using her own imagination.
"These cards will be sold at the exhibition and anybody interested in
purchasing my cards the price would be from Rs 250 upwards," she added.
Rupasinghe concluded her conversation thanking her school Principal S
Dandeniya, Guide Captain, Kanthi Fernando, Shiromi Liyanage, Udaya
Rupasinghe, her parents and Bandara.
Entrance will be free for this exhibition. |
