Burglaries rise in Batticaloa

The number of burglaries in Batticaloa town have increased, residents
said. Goods valued at over Rs one million were stolen from a house at
Boundary Road, Batticaloa last Friday.
The occupants were at work. The head of the house is the Eastern
University lecturer while his wife is a teacher.
Meanwhile, Rs 200,000, jewellery and household goods were stolen from
a house at Maddikkali, Mugaththuwaram on Wednesday.
Batticaloa Police are investigating. |
