Kelani Saviya to begin on November 4

Mahinda Saranapala, CEO Kelani Cables plc. told Daily News Business that after a laps of 100 days, arrangements have already been made to commence the Kelani Saviya Professional Electrician Training and Development programme from November 4.

Professor Manjula Fernando, Course Director Kelani Saviya, said that there were 56 students registered and will follow the programme at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya this year. He added that those who have qualified to follow the course should have successfully completed all three levels to obtain the certificate.

Saranapala and the Vice Chancellor UOP already had signed the MoU to continue this unique CSR till 2017. Professor Janaka Ekanayake masterminded the Kelani Saviya programme established in 2007 under the collaboration agreement of the two entities. The programme continued successfully producing professional electricians to the nation.
