Aunt, nephew found dead on rail track

Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman in Veyangoda. The bodies were found on the railway track between Pattigoda in Heendeniya and Veyangoda.

The deceased have been identified as W A Muditha Kumara , 22, and his aunt Nayana Beragama Liyanage, 25, a mother of one, who are residents of Gampaha. Police believe the duo died when they were knocked down by a power set plying from Rambukkana to Panadura around 4.55am yesterday. Police found two third class train tickets for Gampaha dated

October 16 issued in Anuradhapura in the man’s pocket. Police said the woman’s husband earlier lodged a complaint at Gampaha Police about an affair between his wife and nephew.
