Ranaviru Mawpiya Rakawarana launch today

The inauguration ceremony of the “ Ranaviru Mawpiya Rakawarana ”
accounts will be held today at Temple Trees under the patronage of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Ranaviru Sewa Authority has planned this to felicitate war heroes'
parents for the first time in the world and will spend around Rs.450
million on this programme per month.
All parents of Security Forces personnel who served in the three
forces during the period from January 1,1983 to May 19, 2009 and parents
of police officers who sacrificed their lives or became disabled during
the war will also be entitled to this special payment.
Around 4,000 parents of Security Forces personnel are to receive
these accounts at the inauguration ceremony.
According to Ranaviru Sewa Authority Chairperson Padma Wettawa,
nearly 600,000 parents will become beneficiaries of this programme.
Ranawiru Seva Authority will grant Rs.750 for each parent and both
father and mother of a person will receive Rs.1500 monthly. Around
468,000 parents of the Army, 79,000 from the Navy, 30,000 from the Air
Force and 56,000 from the Ranaviru Seva Authority are to receive the
benefits of this programme, she explained. Bank of Ceylon(BOC), People's
Bank, National Savings Bank (NSB) and Pradeshiya Sanwardhana Bank have
joined in this programme. |
