Tharaka hits 92

A good knock of 92 with 9 fours off 142 balls by Tharaka Somatillake helped Kegalu Vidyalaya to declare at 240 for 8 declared on the opening day of the inter-school cricket match against Asoka Vidyalaya, Colombo which began at the Public groups, Kagalle yesterday. The match will be continued today at 9.30 am. Kegalu Vidyalaya declared their innings closed at tea time but the visiting team could not bat as heavy rain which followed washed off play for the day.

Highlight of Kegalu Vidyalaya’s innings was two productive partnership which helped to swill the total.

First prolific run getter Bimshendra Ranaweera 51 (6 fours) put on 91 for the second wicket with Tharaka Somatillake. Next Tharaka Somatillake was associated in a fourth wicket stand of 85 with Krishan Narammala 25.

Kegalu Vidyalaya 240 for 8 wickets declared 60 overs (Bimshendra Ranaweera 51, Tharaka Somatillake 92, Krishan Narammala 25, Pubudu Amerasekera 12, Thusitha Prematillake 13m Samadhi Dassanayake 21, Malith Ratnayake 3 for 78, Kavi Bandara 4 for 56).
