Principals, MOE officers piped as Brevet Colonels

SLEAS Class 1 Principals and MOE Officers were piped as Brevet Colonels yesterday under the patronage of the Defence and Urban Development Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Twenty one Principals and two Education Ministry officers were piped as Brevet Colonels at the piping ceremony. They followed a 10 day course at Rantambe.

These colonels will be given training courses to equip them with a wider knowledge of the National Cadet Corps.

The vision of the NCC is grooming tomorrow’s leaders and disciplined and motivated youths with virtues from the school going generation for the nation. The mission of the NCC is to train and inspire cadets using an effective training curriculum, so that each cadet shall develop character, courage, sportsmanship, self-reliance, discipline, civic mindedness, spirit of adventure, responsibility and comradeship to be human resource of well trained youth with virtues capable of providing leadership in all aspects of life.
