Colombo Law Society condemns attack

The Colombo Law Society and the Bar are concerned and disturbed over the adverse effects, the attack on the Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission can have, on the independence and the dignity of the Judiciary and in particular the safety of the Judicial officers, said the Colombo Law Society in a media release yesterday.

The release: We, the Colombo Law Society resolve to call upon President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Attorney General and the Inspector General of Police to take immediate and appropriate action against the perpetrators, to provide sufficient security to all Judicial officers at all times; and to take immediate steps in preserving the independence of the Judiciary.
