Thangaraja improves his world ranking

Sri Lanka’s number one Amateur golfer N. Thangaraja made an
impressive progress in the world rankings and improved 11 positions to
be ranked as 37th best amateur golfer in the world as at September 27.
With Thangaraha’s recent achievement he ranks third in the Asian region
behind Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama (first) and Cheng-tsung Pan of Thipe
(second).
Thangaraja brought home many international titles in recent times and
has become a rising star in the world Amateur golf scene. Particularly
2012 has already became a great year for the 37-year old Lankan golfer
from the Royal Colombo Golf Club, reaching milestones in his golfing
career.
Raja emerged winner of the 7th NRC Cup played in India early this
year and shared the second place with Indian golfer Baisoya Honey in the
All India Amateur Golf Championship.
Thangaraja won the Pakistan Amateur Golf Championship before he
wrapped up the Sri Lankan Amateur title for the second consecutive time
in this year.
