Kahawatte murder: four arrested

The Colombo Crime Division yesterday arrested four suspects in connection with the Kahawatte murder of a mother and daughter, 73 days after the incident took place. Police also recovered the knife which was used for the crime in the possession of the suspects.

The suspects had confessed to committing the crime on a contract of Rs 100.000. A gem miner, coconut plucker, three wheel painter and labourer have been involved in this crime, Police said.

Earlier, one suspect was arrested by the Police and released after obtaining a statement.
