Foreigners nabbed with gold biscuits at BIA

Two foreigners who attempted to smuggle gold biscuits by concealing them in their person were arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport on Friday and Saturday in separate detections. Ten gold biscuits were concealed in their persons, customs officers said.

The gold biscuits weighing nearly one kg were worth over Rs 6 million. Both suspects were bound for India, officers said.

The gold was confiscated.
